Celebrating Staff LogoEvery week we celebrate SMCDSB staff members who have been recognized by a parent, student or colleague.

This week we are celebrating Josie Ellis and Karole- Josie and Karole-Anne Anne  Leroux, teachers and intermediate girls volleyball coaches at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic School. Josie and Karole-Anne were nominated by a parent who said:

“Mrs. Ellis and Ms. Leroux have coached both my daughters in volleyball over the last few years. They volunteer so much of their personal time for the team and it doesn't go unnoticed. They build self-confidence, and leadership and encourage risk-taking by allowing mistakes and teaching the girls to grow from them not to dwell on them. They challenge the girls to do their best and to be supportive of their teammates. Both exude positivity at all times, are encouraging and it is always clear they are proud of the girls and their accomplishments. Words cannot express how appreciative I am for the confidence and support Mrs. Ellis and Ms. Leroux have given to both of my daughters.”

Karli This week we are also celebrating Karli Weston, a receptionist at Holy Cross Catholic School. Karli was nominated by a colleague who said:

“Karli is the first person people see when they enter Holy Cross. She always has a smile on her face and is willing to lend a helping hand. She has managed to learn the names of all 700+ students at our school and greets them personally when they enter the office. Holy Cross is lucky to have Karli as part of our community!”

This week we are also celebrating Jeff Dorion, a teacher Jeff and coach-regional sport chairperson at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic School. Jeff was nominated by a colleague who said:

“Jeff is an exemplary athletics leader who has organized multiple regional events for elementary school students year after year. His commitment to promoting physical activity within his daily classes, and healthy competition in the community, has positively impacted countless young children. Jeff's leadership skills have been evident in his ability to coordinate and execute these events seamlessly, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and that every student has a chance to participate. His passion for athletics and his dedication to fostering a sense of community and teamwork among students are truly inspiring. Thanks to Jeff's hard work and dedication, many elementary school students have been able to experience the benefits of organized sports and develop a lifelong love for physical activity.”

We would like to thank Josie, Karole-Anne, Karli, and Jeff for their commitment to Catholic education at our board.
