Celebrating Staff LogoEvery week we celebrate SMCDSB staff members who have been recognized by a parent, student or colleague.

This week we are celebrating Darlene Bowles, Trudy Ronan, and the EA team of Sharon MacCaubrey, Andrea King, Linda Fetterly, and Jennifer Johns.

Darlene Bowles is an Assistive Technology Trainer at Darlene Bowles Academic Services. Darlene was nominated by a colleague who said:

“Darlene was instrumental in helping our students in Special Education at St. Peter's CSS prepare for the OSSLT. She not only ensured all SEA equipment was updated and current, she also facilitated small group training sessions using Read & Write. Finally she supported both students/staff in troubleshooting issues on both days of the OSSLT. I personally would like to acknowledge Darlene for her outstanding commitment to the students in our school who need her expertise the most. Her contributions are so valuable. Thanks Darlene!”

Trudy RonanThis week we are also celebrating Trudy Ronan. Trudy Ronan is a teacher at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary School. Trudy was nominated by a colleague, who said:

“Trudy always goes above and beyond for her students and co-workers. She puts her full heart into teaching, and supports every student with 110%. Trudy truly is an example of our Catholic faith.“

We are also celebrating the team of EAs at St. Peter the EA team at SPE Apostle Catholic School - Sharon MacCaubrey, Andrea King, Linda Fetterly, and Jennifer Johns. The team was nominated by a colleague, who said:

“Individually, these Educational Assistants would be a gift to any school - professional, selfless, and oh-so-skilled with their charges. Sharon is a giving and invaluable FDK team member, facing every challenge with good humour and enormous patience. Andrea is constantly creating new systems to benefit her students, and strives to attain professional development daily. Linda is one of the most flexible and effective people with whom I have ever had the pleasure of working. Jen is a walking warm heart, and particularly good in a crisis. Not only are they well-loved by their own charges, but also by the students around them, and staff and community members.

As a team, they provide the school with its backbone of optimism, support and love. There is no one in our school community who is not positively affected by this tight-knit group of optimistic, highly professional team members. SPE is blessed with their presence.”

We would like to thank Darlene, Trudy, Sharon, Andrea, Linda and Jennifer for their commitment to Catholic education at our board.
