Every week we celebrate SMCDSB staff members who have been recognized by a parent, student, or colleague.This week we are celebrating Wendy Faulkner and Shannon O'Connor.
Wendy is an Educational Assistant at St. Monica’s Catholic School.
She was nominated by a colleague who said:
“Wendy's patience and Christian faith shines through every day, as she works with her students and colleagues. She always has a warm morning greeting for everyone and shares valued time for whoever is in need. Her dedicated work ethic sets a positive tone for the rest of the team. Many different ideas of homemade language games, cookie surveys and voting experiences have helped students learn to love and appreciate the educational scene. Photo books made to help parents see their child's daily adventures and friendships, is only one of her artistic ideas. Wendy is always a team player and sets examples of kindness in the way society should be treated. Her love of community and bringing people together, helps make our school a better place to work.”
This week we are also celebrating Shannon O’Connor. Shannon is a teacher at St. Marguerite d’Youville Catholic School.
She was nominated by a parent who said:
“Ms O’Connor is such an amazing positive teacher. She truly loves and cares for every one of her students. My daughter has had the pleasure of being in her class this year and she has truly gained so much more confidence in herself. Ms. O’Connor has helped her come out of her shell and is always by her side to be a helping hand, answer a question and be an ear when my daughter needs to talk something out. The world needs more Ms. O’Connor’s to love, care for and inspire our youth! She truly goes out of her way to make each student feel special! The students and staff are lucky to have this wonderful soul on their team. Thank you Ms. O’Connor for loving and caring for our children like they are all your own!”
