Luau Day at JOAWhat do you do when March Break becomes April Break but you still want to have some fun in March? If you’re a student at St. Joan of Arc Catholic High School (JOA) in Barrie, you can participate in the weeklong event and make the best of it with your classmates!

For the week of March 15 - 19, JOA students have planned five spirit days to keep enthusiasm and motivation high. The week kicks off with Aloha Day, and as the name suggests, students will dress up in their favourite tropical outfits - so time to dig out those crazy Hawaiian floral shirts and flip flops!

Muscle and music will battle it out on Tuesday when students wear their favourite sport’s team swag or concert t-shirt. Irish fun will be plentiful on Wednesday, as student’s dress in green and white to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Groovy outfits from years past are perfect garb for “Throwback Thursday” and the week of school spirit wraps up on Friday with students dressing up as their favourite Disney character or Marvel superhero.

Kudos to the Senior Knight Mentor Crew for initiating this week of fun for JOA staff and students!

Mid-March fun is playing out at most schools in our board, keeping spirits high, as staff and students anticipate warmer days, and spring activities.
