Every week we celebrate SMCDSB staff members who have been recognized by a parent, student, or colleague.
This week we are celebrating Pat Gowan and Don York.
Pat is a teacher at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic
School. He was nominated by a colleague who said:
“As a former student of Mr. Gowan's and now a colleague, I continue to admire his dedication to his students. His ability to connect with students through music is inspiring. His passion for music is evident and he shares it with his students. Mr. Gowan never fails to recognize students' unique abilities and helps them to gain confidence and feel welcomed. I was inspired by Mr. Gowan to become a teacher and I hope to have the same positive affect on my students.”
Don is a custodian at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic School. He was nominated by staff members who said:
“Mr. York is always taking the initiative and can be counted on to go the extra mile and keep our school building looking exceptional. He positively interacts with all members of our school community and is a friendly face that students and staff look forward to seeing every day! Thank you Mr. York from the Grade 5 Team at SGA!”
We would like to thank Pat and Don for their commitment to Catholic education at our board.
