Every week we celebrate SMCDSB staff members who have been recognized by a parent, student or colleague.
This week we are celebrating Jessica Bly and Jennifer Hancock.
Jessica is a DECE at Monsignor J.E. Ronan Catholic School. She was nominated by a colleague, who said:
“Jessica is a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day. 
She always comes to work with a smile on her face and finds the positive in every situation. She has such a calm spirit, that makes being around her so enjoyable. She has unconditional love for her students and her patience is astounding. Jessica is always willing to learn. However, I don't think she realizes how knowledgeable she really is and that she is an amazing resource for the Kinder teams. In a very short time, she made me a better educator, friend and overall person. When she does become a permanent DECE in our board, that school, class and educator will be truly blessed to have Jessica.”
Jennifer is a Lunch Hour Supervisor, End of Day Bus Supervisor, Supply Secretary and Supply EA at Saint Mary Catholic School. She was nominated by a colleague, who said:
“Jenn has been a lunch hour supervisor and an end of day bus supervisor at Saint Mary School in Huntsville for almost twenty years. She also works as an office administrator each day, covering lunch for our school secretary. In addition, Jenn fills in anywhere she is needed as a supply EA and even sometimes as a supply teacher. She can even be counted on to supervise on inclement weather days--we don't think she has never missed a snow day. She does all of this in addition to her regular job, where she has also been recognized for her outstanding contributions and customer service. Jenn is also a wonderful mom to Caitlyn.
Jenn is a team player who supports staff and students. She works hard to develop relationships with both staff and students. She is understanding, compassionate, supportive, fair, kind, and consistent--her accolades are many. Jenn always has a positive outlook and sees the best in the students and staff that she works with. Saint Mary School is so very lucky to have such a dedicated member of our school community. Thank you for all you do for us Jenn!”
