Every year the City of Barrie launches the “I Love Barrie” contest. Students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 are invited to get creative and share why they love their city. 

The results of this year’s contest have been released, and we are pleased to announce that SMCDSB students have swept the competition!

The 2023 I Love Barrie contest winners are:

• Artwork winner: Layla Maxwell, Grade 4, Sister Catherine Donnelly Catholic School
• Class winner: Grade 2/3 class (Mrs. Macdonald’s class), St. Bernadette Catholic School

Along with the recognition, students will receive prizes from the City of Barrie and will be invited to an upcoming Barrie city council meeting to share their winning art.
