Celebrating Staff LogoEvery week we celebrate SMCDSB staff members who have been recognized by a parent, student, or colleague.

This week we are celebrating Tony Quigley, Richard Newton, and Murray Watson.

Tony is an ICT technician and Richard is the Help Desk Richard Newton Support technician at the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board. They were nominated by a colleague who said:

“Imagine being given the huge job of training staff to use a new laptop/device, during a pandemic, while on the brink of completing progress reports as well as navigating the new IEP program. This is the job of the incredible IT department, especially the work of Richard Tony QuigleyNewton remotely, and Tony Quigley in person. Richard has been a tremendous help whenever there is a computer software issue and always seems to solve it without any issues. Tony has gone above and beyond with the roll out of the new technology at MLE. He does so with a smile and the tenacity of a bulldog. No task is impossible and he will not quit until he figures out the problem and comes up with a solution. The SMCDSB is very fortunate to have highly skilled and capable employees who easily navigate the ever changing tech world.”

This week we are also celebrating Murray Watson. Murray is the Adult Faith Animator at the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board. He was nominated by a colleague who said:

“Murray is the guy you always want in your corner. He Murray Watson brings his credentials and his compassionate heart to the table for everyone who encounters him. He is the fellow that you can count on when you need a friend, a colleague, some advice, or even just an ear. Murray Watson is one of those individuals who embodies the family-like nature of our Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board. Thank you, Murray, for your tireless efforts to help create and maintain a Christ-centred education system that is inclusive, honest, and inspiring.”

We would like to thank Tony, Richard, and Murray for their commitment to Catholic education at our board.
