K-12 Education Accessibility Standards Feedback

K-12 Education Accessibility Standards Feedback
Posted on 06/29/2021

The Government of Ontario is inviting the public to submit feedback to help make K-12 education more accessible for students with disabilities.

The K-12 Education Standards Development Committee was developed from a group of representatives comprised of people with disabilities, disability organizations and sector experts — to address accessibility barriers and develop recommendations for proposed accessibility standards for K-12 education.

The committee has drafted initial recommendations that would inform the government’s work on proposed accessibility standards for K-12 education. Additionally, Technical Sub-Committee has developed recommendations on student transitions between different levels of the education sector, and between education and employment and the community.

Feedback from the public is important in the development of the final report and recommendations to the Minister for Seniors and Accessibility for consideration. Students, staff and families are encouraged to view the recommendations of accessibility standards and student transitions on the Government of Ontario Website and submit their feedback before September 2, 2021.
