Every week we celebrate individuals in the SMCDSB community who have been recognized for going above and beyond to help others during the COVID-19 pandemic. This week we are celebrating Ms. Merola's Grade 3/4 class and Teddy MK.

Ms. Merola's Grade 3/4 class from  Holy Family Catholic School in Alliston, was nominated by a staff member who said:

Mrs. Merola's grade 3 and 4 students wrote thank you letters to themerola's class frontline workers at Humber River Hospital expressing their gratitude and appreciation for all the hard work they have been doing through this tough time. Saying ‘thank you’ in this way shows that we are paying attention, and that we see the gift that they are to our community through their acts of service.”

Teddy MK is a student from Patrick Fogarty Catholic Secondary School in Orillia. He was nominated by staff members who said:

teddy mk
Teddy keeps our school community connected through our school's social media.  He goes above and beyond, doing research, creating a set, including graphics, and so much more to celebrate with the school community each day.  Teddy certainly uses his God-given talents to bring hope and optimism each day during this most unusual time.”

Just as he did at school, Teddy delivers a heartwarming and informative video everyday to inspire students and keep us all connected during the school closure. He shares informative and uplifting messages to students and often adds in a fun challenge for the students and teachers.”

We would like to thank Ms. Merola's Grade 3/4 class and Teddy MK for their incredible effort in helping others during this time.
