What better way to celebrate our Canadian winter than with the 2020 Ontario Winter Games. The City of Orillia is serving as host, and is ready to welcome 3,500 athletes, coaches, officials and dignitaries from across the province for what’s sure to be a fantastic display of young athleticism.

From February 27 to March 1, athletes 12 - 18 years of age will compete in 27 sports at venues throughout Orillia, Barrie, Oro-Medonte, Rama and Severn. The Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board is thrilled to once again be a part of the Games, and serve as host for two events. St. Peter’s Catholic Secondary School in Barrie will be hosting wheelchair basketball again this year, and for the first time, St. Joan of Arc Catholic High School in Barrie will host wrestling.

Futsal athletes will also be gathering at Patrick Fogarty Catholic Secondary School in Orillia for a pre-games dinner before opening ceremonies on February 27. Residents can view the opening ceremonies at the Orillia waterfront and the athletes parade beginning at 7 p.m. with entertainment to follow.
