Happy World Teachers' Day!

There are many days of celebration throughout the year, and we have selected, once again, to honour all of our staff, students, parents, and supporters during Catholic Education Week, which takes place in May.
In addition to the recognition that will take place during that week, we will pause to acknowledge a global celebration taking place today.
Today is World Teachers' Day -- and this day has special meaning for all of us because every child throughout the world deserves to be loved, to be cared for, to be healthy, and to be educated.
I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the work of each and every one of you, in all of your diverse roles, to support the education of our students throughout the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board.
Education is one of the finest, most enduring gifts we can bestow upon our children and our students, and I thank you for your work to support Catholic education throughout our board.
I also thank you on behalf of all of our students and their families.
And please allow me this opportunity to wish each of you a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend.
