Small Group Tutoring
Small group tutoring will be held at public libraries throughout Simcoe County and will be based on a first-come-first-serve basis. Parents and guardians can reserve a tutoring spot by visiting the library’s website below:

SMCDSB parents and guardians will be able to access FREE tutoring services for their child. These tutoring services will be available until March 31, 2023.


There will be various ways in which families will be able to access tutoring services:

Virtual On-Demand Tutoring

Mathify

Virtual on-line Math Tutoring for Students in Grades 4 to 8. Students can access this service whenever they need it. Students accessing this service will need to create an account using the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board and provide their OEN number located on the top of the student’s report card.


Barrie Public Library- Brainfuse

Families with a valid library card with the Barrie Public Library (downtown, Painswick and Holly branches) have free access to virtual on-demand tutoring through a website called Brainfuse. This one-on-one tutoring is for students of all ages from 2 to 11 p.m. daily. Library card information is required to access this free service.


Drop-In Homework Club

Shak's World

Shak's World is a non-profit community youth outreach organization. They are offering a free homework club, every Thursday after school! They are located at 59 Maple Avenue, Barrie, ON.

Arrange Your Own Tutoring (Pre-Approved Independent Agencies)

The Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board (SMCDSB) has funding agreements with the independent agencies listed below. Families must contact the agencies directly and make their own tutoring arrangements (SMCDSB is not involved with the tutoring arrangements or delivery of programming). The independent agency will invoice SMCDSB for the tutoring services provided to SMCDSB students, funding is limited.
