Every week we celebrate SMCDSB staff members who have been recognized by a parent, student or colleague.
This week we are celebrating Katherine Bacik, a teacher
at Holy Family Catholic School. Katherine was nominated by a colleague, who said:
“My daughter was choking one day and Mrs. Bacik was quick to jump into action. I have noticed that she is always quick to take charge in any situation and I really appreciate this quality in her. I think any parent who has her as a teacher is lucky to have such a competent and caring teacher looking after their child. As well, as a fellow colleague of Katherine's I feel that she is a great team member to have on my team.”
This week we are also celebrating Rita Benvenuto, a French teacher at Holy Trinity Catholic High School. Rita was nominated by a parent, who said:
“Mrs. Benvenuto is compassionate, caring, and friendly towards those around her. She greets visitors with an inviting smile and never leaves anyone feeling upset. She takes her time to understand her students' needs and puts her effort and energy towards them. Mrs. Benvenuto has a heart for teaching and serves her school community with compassion, love, and care.”
We would like to thank Katherine and Rita for their commitment to Catholic education at our board.
