Dear Staff and Families: 

We would like to share some important new developments in the labour situation between the provincial government and CUPE. The provincial government has agreed to revoke the legislation they passed last week and as a result the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) has announced that they will be returning to work tomorrow. Both sides will resume negotiations immediately. 

This means that all schools in the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board will be open for in-person learning on Tuesday, November 8th.

It will be business as usual in our schools with the resumption of student transportation, extracurricular activities, before and after school care and community use of schools. 

In the meantime, we are pleased with these latest developments, and we will continue to pray for a timely and fair resolution. As always, we thank you for your support, understanding and patience.
