Celebrating Staff LogoEvery week we celebrate SMCDSB staff members who have been recognized by a parent, student or colleague.

This week we are celebrating Rosemarie Lassaline, a Rosemarie Lassaline teacher at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic School. Rosemarie was nominated by a colleague, who said:

“Rose has dedicated her heart throughout her career within the SMCDSB. She has truly embraced the theme of "We are Many. We are One" for close to 30 years. Thank you for the beautiful contributions to Catholic education! We are so grateful for the many hearts that Rose has touched within SMCDSB!”

Nina MottershallThis week we are also celebrating Nina Mottershall, a teacher at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic School. Nina was nominated by a colleague, who said:

“Nina is devoted to the students, staff and community of SGA. She works seemingly tirelessly to ensure that students are offered opportunities for success above and beyond academics. She is involved in the student council, kindergarten helpers and mass celebrations just to name a few of her passions. Her classroom is a welcoming and safe place for our littlest learners and she also encourages our older students to be a part of that smaller community. Our students and community are blessed to have such an energetic and kind person in our midst.”

Last but certainly not least, we are celebrating Brooke Brooke Roth Roth, a librarian/SERT at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic School. Brooke was nominated by a colleague, who said:

“Brooke is an amazing educator who works tirelessly to provide opportunities for students to achieve success. In her work in the library she supports classes with STEM challenges. She has worked with many teachers to ensure that differentiated learning styles are supported. She creates many manipulatives and visuals to support her small groups and uses assessment to guide her next steps. Within the school she runs many programs including food deliverers, parent council and staff social gatherings. We are a very fortunate school community in that Brooke offers her talents in such a free and giving manner.”

We would like to thank Rosemarie, Nina, and Brooke for their commitment to Catholic education at our board.
