The Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board is located in the northernmost part of the Archdiocese of Toronto. Director of Education, Frances Bagley, on behalf of the board, welcomed the news that Pope Francis named Bishop Francis Leo as the new Archbishop of Toronto. We are excited to welcome Bishop Leo to our region in the coming weeks, and offer our congratulations and prayers as he embarks on his new role.
As Bishop Leo takes on the responsibilities as our chief shepherd, we pray that God will guide and bless him. We welcome Bishop Leo to our board offices and schools, and invite him to share his faith-story with our students, staff and trustees.
