Celebrating Catholic Education Week 2021

Celebrating Catholic Education Week 2021
Posted on 04/30/2021

Catholic school boards across Ontario will observe “Catholic Education Week” from May 2-7. It is a time to celebrate all that is best and most beautiful about our Catholic school system and to give thanks for the gift of a faith-filled education. The theme for 2021 is “Nurturing Hope,” which is so fitting considering that it is faith and hope that has provided us with the spiritual nourishment to weather the challenges we have all faced this year.

Throughout the week, our schools will take part in various activities virtually, and we invite our families to join in as well. Each year, our schools participate in a Walk for Social Justice, and this year families can also take part. Each day of the week has a focused purpose for which you can walk 500+ steps and then on Friday, May 7 we encourage each family to enter the total number of steps you walked for social justice.

We are also excited to invite staff, students and parents to a special virtual presentation by popular speaker, David Bouchard. Join us on Thursday, May 6th at 7 p.m. as David uses his experience as an educator, author, parent and grandparent, to explain why reading is key to academic success and that storytelling is a powerful way to influence, teach and inspire. David draws on his own Métis heritage - in a tireless commitment to share his learnings with any and all who will listen.
