Gerri is a teacher/librarian at St. Monica's Catholic School in Barrie. She was nominated by a colleague, who said:

“Gerri Priest is a driving force behind many initiatives in our school. She worksgerri priest to inspire the love of reading in all of the students in the school. She also runs countless clubs not only athletics but academic ones as well. She is the coach for the Battle of the Books team that never fails to place in the top two teams at the library competition. She also runs the Forest of Reading for grades 4 - 8 to try and instill a love of Canadian authors as well. She also gives of her time to run the staff social club to encourage all members to get to know each other and be supportive. Her quiet, calm reflective manner is one of the many reasons that St. Monica's is the wonderful school that it is.”

Kathy Robinson is a vision resource teacher at Academic Services in Barrie. She was nominated by a colleague who said:

kathy robinson“Kathy works at Our Lady of Lourdes as a resource teacher. While Kathy is assigned to a specific classroom, her care for all students and staff at OLL is evident. Kathy is always there to lend an attentive ear and to offer kind advice to those who are outside of her assigned classroom. Her experience and knowledge of the education system is evident in her refined teaching practice, but her belief in Catholic education is evidenced in her commitment to individuals and relationships.”

We would like to thank Gerri and Kathy for their commitment to Catholic education at our board.
