Every week we celebrate SMCDSB staff members who have been recognized by a parent, student or colleague.

This week we are celebrating Margaret Walker and Peter Laurin.

Margaret is the Office Administrator at St. Monica's Catholic School in Barrie. She was nominated by a colleague, who said:

“Margaret is the kind face that greets staff, students and parents as youmargaret walker come into our school. She has taken multi-tasking to a whole new level as she greets parents, answers phones, solves problems and assists teachers and administrators. She is also an excellent example of healthy living in her daily walk at lunch time and before and after school. We are very fortunate to have Mrs. Walker as our school secretary.”

Peter Laurin is the Chief Custodian at Monsignor Clair Catholic School and Academic Services in Barrie. He was nominated by a colleague, who said:

peter laurin“Peter is the most accommodating person to work with. No task is too big or too small. Every request is met with a smile and sometimes it feels like he's magically completed the task before you press send on an email or hang up on the call. He quietly keeps things neat and in good repair for us and it would be lovely to let him know that his hard work does not go unnoticed.”

We would like to thank Margaret and Peter for their commitment to Catholic education at our board.
