Every week we celebrate SMCDSB staff members who have been recognized by a parent, student or colleague.

This week we are celebrating Michele Giannone and Lyndsay DeLoose.

Michele was a School Office Assistant at St. Peter’s Catholicmichele giannone Secondary School in Barrie and recently transferred to Holy Trinity Catholic High School in Bradford. She was nominated by a colleague, who said:

“Michele is tireless and dedicated, looking out for all Panthers, students and staff, with her patience, kindness and empathy. Michele encourages communication, telling us that no question is too weird or lame. She always does her best to help out, whether it's a fob for the elevator, the Concussion List or announcing lost and found items; these are only a few, small areas in which she supports us in the ‘Jungle.’

Michele is committed to helping everyone who enters our school and must be commended for her friendliness and amazing collaborative attitude. Michele makes all of our jobs easier by providing us with all the emergency information and many, many other small tasks that help us provide the best educational experience for our students. Michele is friendly, approachable and extremely essential in our school. Beloved by all staff and students, Ms. G is often the first line of contact in the office and she calmly deals with whatever comes across her desk. We are so lucky to have Ms. Giannone in the Panther Jungle!”

lyndsay delooseLyndsay DeLoose is a teacher at St. Marguerite d'Youville Catholic School in Barrie. She was nominated by a colleague, who said:

“Mrs. DeLoose is an unbelievable driving force at MDY.  Lyndsay continually sparks students’ interest in learning and development from year to year, and her passion and desire to promote positive growth in each student enrolled at MDY is truly remarkable. Mrs. DeLoose is a teacher whose natural shining light brings forth a smile from both children and colleagues on a daily basis. Students entering school for the first time have the perfect teacher to ensure their introduction to scholastic learning is smooth, safe, energetic, fun, creative and filled with an abundance of positive individuality. The staff and every family enrolled at MDY are very fortunate to have such a wonderful teacher.”

We would like to thank Michele and Lyndsay for their commitment to Catholic education at our board.
