Every week we celebrate individuals in the SMCDSB community who have been recognized for going above and beyond to help others during the COVID-19 pandemic. This week we are celebrating Brenna C. and Bruno Giuliano.

Brenna is a recent graduate from St. Peter's Catholic Secondary School in Barrie.  She was nominated by a family member who said:

breanna c “Brenna created an online food drive campaign that started during Catholic Education Week. As aCatholic School graduate of 2020 she felt it was important to reflect on the theme ‘Igniting Hope' and be reminded that with God’s guidance we can remain optimistic and ignite positive change. So, in honour of all graduates of 2020 she ran an online food drive to support those in need during these difficult times. All proceeds supported the Feed Ontario COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund and so far has raised $2000!”

Bruno Giuliano is a teacher at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic School in Barrie. He was nominated by a staff member who said:

bruno“Bruno has gone above and beyond to assist staff in helping them set up their Google Classrooms, answering all staff requests for help with the various technology resources, and assisting with the distribution of technology for families in need at our school. He has spent a lot of time on the phone helping individual staff navigate through the software so that they can serve their students' needs.”

We would like to thank Brenna and Bruno for their incredible effort in helping others during this time.
