Get help with questions or concerns about your child's education

If you have a question or concern about your child's education, start by speaking with your child's teacher and/or principal.

If your question or concern has not been addressed, our Student and Family Support Office can help. We can answer questions, provide information and support and help connect you with the appropriate school board staff or services.

The Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board is committed to building and maintaining positive relationships with students, parents and community partners. When concerns or issues arise, the Board will seek fair, timely, clear and equitable responses.
 

1Step One: Speak With Your Child's Teacher

Parents/Guardians should first address a classroom-related question or concern with the child's teacher. Classroom teachers can help with issues such as homework, report cards, assignment and student well-being.

2Step Two: Speak With the School Principal

If your question or concern cannot be resolved with the classroom teacher, parents/guardians should speak to the school principal. They can help with issues including, but not limited to,  special education, schedules, disciplinary measures, code of conduct and school safety. 

3Step Three: Contact the Student and Family Support Office

The Student and Family Support Office is available to families who are unable to resolve their question or concern at the school level or if their concern is not school-related. Our office will clarify next steps, provide information and support and help connect you with the appropriate board staff or services.
