The Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board has received funding approval to construct a new 516 pupil place elementary school, including a three-room child care centre, in Bradford.  The new school will be located on Rogers Trail at Vipond Way, north of Line 8, in north BradfordConstruction of the new facility commenced in the spring of 2025 and is anticipated to be complete this fall for an opening in September 2026. During this time, the Bradford area has continued to grow in enrolment

A boundary review is necessary to establish a new boundary for the Bradford Catholic Elementary School (name to be determined) and balance enrolment and capacities in the area.

Affected Schools:

  • St. Charles Catholic School

  • St. Jean de Brébeuf Catholic School

  • St. Marie of the Incarnation Catholic School

Goals:

  • Establish a boundary for the new Bradford Catholic Elementary School

  • Review the boundaries of other existing schools in the area to ensure enrolment relief, where feasible.

  • Determine attendance boundaries that best meet boundary review objectives.

Guiding Objectives:

A boundary review shall align with the following objectives, where possible:

  • Establish new boundaries as a result of a new school or capacity concerns in the existing area

  • Balance school enrolment and capacity

  • Maximize walk zones

  • Consideration of site restrictions

  • Consideration of projected development and enrolment

  • Follow logical divides such as major roads, physical barriers, etc.
