Celebrating Staff LogoEvery week we celebrate SMCDSB staff members who have been recognized by a parent, student, or colleague.

This week, we are celebrating Patty Payne, Barb Crowther, and Angela Kirbyson.

Patty is an educational assistant at Saint Mary Catholic Patty Payne School. She was nominated by a colleague who said:

“Patty always goes above and beyond in her day. Patty is always doing extras around the school, to help make the school a better place for the staff and students. She is the first person I go to, if I have questions regarding the job we are doing. Patty is what being in a team is all about as she will guide you in the direction we need to go. Patty is not about what can't be done, but what can be done.”

Barb CrowtherThis week we are also celebrating Barb Crowther. Barb is a teacher at Monsignor Lee Catholic School. She was nominated by a former student who said:

“Barb was my Grade 8 teacher when I was in elementary school and I am now going into my 3rd year of my undergraduate program at Nipissing (University) aspiring to be half the teacher Barb is. The lessons Barb taught to me at a young age still stick with me and she is one of the main reasons I want to become a teacher. I hope to do my concurrent education placement with her as I would love to learn under such a caring, compassionate and overall amazing individual. I know she is continuing to make a difference in her students' lives like she did with mine.”

We are also celebrating Angela Kirbyson. Angela is a Angela Kirbyson school office assistant in Student Services at St. Dominic Catholic High School. She was nominated by a colleague who said:

“Angela is a very efficient school office admin. This year she worked for the VSS and most recently she has accepted a temporary position in the Continuing Education Department -all while working remotely from St. Dominic. She is able to juggle many tasks and is a PowerSchool wizard. She always does this with a smile and a laugh. She is an asset to St. Dominic and all the other roles she has taken on in the last year.”

We would like to thank Patty, Barb, and Angela for their commitment to Catholic education at our board.
