Celebrating Staff LogoEvery week we celebrate SMCDSB staff members who have been recognized by a parent, student or colleague.

This week we are celebrating Matthew, a teacher at HolyMatthew Brousseau Cross Catholic School. Matthew was nominated by a parent, who said:

“We are a new family to Holy Cross and to SMCDSB. Moving from Toronto to Innisfil was a big change for my children. Mr. Brousseau is my daughter's teacher. He made her feel welcome from day one which was virtual and not ideal. She ended that day with new friends and was happy to meet everyone in person the following week. This teacher stood out because he connected with us to ensure our daughter settled into a routine and was happy all around.”

Tiziana BruniThis week we are also celebrating Tiziana, a teacher at St. Angela Merici Catholic School. Tiziana was nominated by a parent, who said:

“My son has special needs that need some extra attention, without skipping a beat she was more than willing to help inform me and assist my son when needed. She explained that students' health and safety is always first. Not to mention her teaching is phenomenal, he’s thriving this year more than any others. She definitely needs to be acknowledged.

My son's extra needs are always met. She truly cares for her students' education, mental health and safety. She is always available when needed and willing to offer extra help. I am very grateful for the school to have such an outstanding teacher.”

This week we are also celebrating Mary, a teacher at St.Mary Colwell Francis of Assisi Catholic School. Mary was nominated by a parent, who said:

“Mary goes above and beyond. My daughter started school struggling with reading. With Mary’s hard work and dedication not only did my daughter start reading, she loves to read. She helped her gain confidence in her abilities. Mary set a goal for her to reach not only did she reach that goal she exceeded it. The world needs more teachers and people like her. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!”

We would like to thank Matthew, Tiziana, and Mary for their commitment to Catholic education at our board.
