Every week, we celebrate SMCDSB staff members who have been recognized by a parent, student, or colleague.
This week, we are celebrating Ashleigh Jeffery-Price, a

chaplaincy team leader at St. Joseph’s Catholic High School. Ashleigh was nominated by a colleague who said:
“Ashleigh exemplifies what it means to be a dedicated Chaplain at St Joseph’s. She leads with confidence, deep faith, and an unwavering commitment to the spiritual and pastoral life of the school community. Her generosity of time, attentiveness to students and staff, and thoughtful approach to ministry consistently strengthen a culture of care and belonging. Ashleigh’s work is both deeply grounded and genuinely transformative, making her richly deserving of this nomination.”

This week, we are also celebrating Jennifer Foster, a teacher at Our Lady of the Bay Catholic High School. Jennifer was nominated by a student who said:
“Ms. Foster is one of the best teachers I've ever had. Before high school, I had trouble with writing essays and other English papers. After having met Ms. Foster and taken her grade 9 English course, I've now been able to write much better.”
We are also celebrating Marianne Charlebois this week,

an educational assistant at Monsignor Lee Catholic School. Marianne was nominated by a colleague who said:
“Marianne Charlebois is an exceptional Educational Assistant whose professionalism, leadership, and dedication have a great impact on students and staff alike. A true leader within the E.A. team, Marianne’s commitment to students is second to none. She brings a calm, compassionate presence to everything she does, with a special way of working with students that has earned her a great amount of respect throughout the school community. Marianne creates meaningful connections with students through fun, engaging activities in the Special Needs classroom, fostering a safe and welcoming space where students feel supported and valued. Beyond the classroom, her dedication is seen through her involvement in coaching school teams, including volleyball and baseball, and her active role as a member of the school’s social committee. Marianne also leads the school’s Breakfast Club, which runs four days a week. She consistently goes above and beyond, often arriving early to prepare nourishing breakfasts that help students start their day feeling cared for and ready to learn. Her generosity, leadership, and unwavering commitment embody the very best of Catholic education, and our school is incredibly fortunate to have her as part of its community.”

Last but not least, we are celebrating Tonia Pitocco, an educational assistant at Holy Trinity Catholic High School. Tonia was nominated by two students who said:
“She is and has been the best EA since elementary. She works hard at including me and all the other kids in the hub. Always creating fun activities and joy in the hub. She truly cares about the well-being and needs of all the special needs students in our Hub.”
We would like to thank Ashleigh, Jennifer, Marianne, and Tonia for their commitment to Catholic education at our board.
