Are you a Grade 10 student who likes getting involved, sharing ideas, or speaking up for others? This could be a great opportunity for you.
The Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board (SMCDSB) invites Grade 10 students to apply to become a Student Trustee. In this role, you will represent student voice at the board level by attending meetings, participating in Student Senate, and helping to share what matters most to students across SMCDSB.
This role is a great fit for students who are interested in leadership, advocacy, and making a difference in their school communities. It offers opportunities to build confidence, develop leadership skills, and gain real-world experience. You don’t need to have all the answers—just a willingness to learn, listen, and get involved. Students do not need to be Catholic to apply.
The term is two years, beginning August 1, 2026. Student Trustees receive mentorship, may attend conferences and events, and receive an honorarium.
Application deadline: March 4, 2026
Election: March 26, 2026 (Student Senate meeting)
