Holy Trinity Hosts OFSSA Girl’s Soccer

OFSSA Soccer AnnouncementThis year's Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) Girls "AA" Soccer Championship will have a local connection. Holy Trinity Catholic High School will host - marking the first time the provincial championship has been held in the town of Bradford West Gwillimbury. The event runs from Thursday, June 2 through Saturday, June 4, 2022.

Mayor Rob Keffer was in attendance for the big announcement on March 23rd. He was joined by other members of the city council. Also at the kick-off was Scot Gorecki, Superintendent of Student Achievement, and Heinrich Bebie, the Principal of Holy Trinity. Local media CTV Barrie and Bradford Today were on hand to share the exciting news.

The tournament will attract around 600 student-athletes. Family members, friends, and soccer fans will also be there to show their support. Twenty high school senior girls' soccer teams from across the province will compete round-robin style. Henderson Memorial Park is the location of this exciting event. Teacher Craig McLaughlin’s Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) students will provide audio/visual support for the competition.

Over the last 25 years, the Holy Trinity soccer program has grown quickly. It is now one of the most successful high school athletic programs in Simcoe County. The Tigers have many wins under their belt.
