Every week we celebrate SMCDSB staff members who have been recognized by a parent, student or colleague.

This week we are celebrating Pamela Pike and Jenna Ciprietti.

Pamela is a special education resource teacher at St. Teresa of Calcutta Catholic School in Bradford. She was nominated by a parent, who said:

“Our family would like to recognize the AWESOME Ms. Pike. For the last 10 years, our family had the privilege of working with Ms. Pike very closely at St. Teresa of Calcutta Catholic School in Bradford. As a Special Education Resource Teacher she always makes sure that the school itself and all school activities are as inclusive as possible. Students with all needs flourish in that school thanks to this special person with a big heart.

Our son has physical disability and in the 10 years of his education we have experienced many rough patches but we always find the understanding and compassion for his unique abilities with Ms. Pike. She always helps to find solutions for obstacles in his educational path. Ms. Pike takes time to make sure that all students are part of daily school life - that means all games, plays, trips, transportation, understanding and also human dignity is accommodated to individual student needs.

In the past 10 years St.Teresa of Calcutta Catholic School reached a unique level of inclusiveness especially thanks to Ms.Pike. THANK YOU Ms. PIKE!!”

Jenna Ciprietti is a teacher at Father F.X. O'Reilly Catholic School in Tottenham. She was nominated by a colleague who said:

“Jenna is the most compassionate and hardworking person I know. She is dedicated to providing her classroom students with meaningful learning through her inquiry based program.

Jenna is an amazing person to work alongside. She is open minded and a wonderful team member.”

We would like to thank Pamela and Jenna for their commitment to Catholic education at our board.
