What does a library mean to you? Students from The Good Shepherd Catholic School in Barrie certainly illustrated what it means to them. Ms. Boyle’s Grade 3/4 class and Mrs. MacDonald’s Grade 4 class took on the “Outside the Lines” Twitter Photo Challenge set by Barrie Public Library, and won!

Schools in the area were challenged to create a mural, paint large-scale quotes from their favourite books or use chalk to create a banner on a building or sidewalk to represent what a library means to them. The Grade 3 and 4 students from The Good Shepherd brainstormed ideas ranging from books, scavenger hunts, a peaceful garden on the roof to many other fun activities. The end result was a huge mural, full of wonderful artwork that showcased the significance of libraries.

Barrie Public Library announced that The Good Shepherd was a winner on September 16 on Twitter. The students have won a private Tinker Party and a pizza lunch at the library. They will have an amazing time building robots, writing code and much more.

Congratulations to the students and staff who worked so hard to create the beautiful mural. Have an amazing time at your party!
