Father F.X. O'Reilly CS Students Claim Top Spots at the Area Legion Contest

This year at the area Royal Canadian Legion Contest, Father F.X. O’Reilly Catholic School in Tottenham came out on top in a number of categories. The contest celebrates outstanding artwork and writing which encompasses the Remembrance of Canadian veterans.


In both the black and white and colour poster categories, students stole the top three spots in the Intermediate level. First place winners were Mackenzie O. and Sean H, who exhibited outstanding artistic talent.


Christopher G. won first place in the Intermediate Poetry category with “We are Free.” The poem highlights the freedoms that Canadians are able to enjoy thanks to our Canadian soldiers.


In the Intermediate essay category, “The Veteran,” by Nolan R. was awarded first place for its fictitious first-hand account of life in the trenches.


Evan V. demonstrated his exceptional public speaking skills, winning first-place with his speech on why Pluto should be reconsidered as a planet.
