Leah from St. Mary's CS places second in World Comic Book Contest!
Three of our students from St. Mary’s Catholic School, in Collingwood, entered the World Comic Book Contest back in May. Students developed comics using the Book Creator App, which allows users to create books and magazines right on their own tablet. Read the story here.
The winners have been chosen and our very own Leah, from St. Mary’s, placed second in the world! Leah’s story, titled Girls Don’t Play Basketball, is about a girl named Olivia who loves basketball but can’t try out for the school team because she’s a girl. Olivia works with the coach to set up a boys vs. girls basketball game to prove that girls can play too! Download Leah’s comic on iBooks here.
Leah really enjoyed using the Book Creator App to make her comic. She says that it “was hard work, but definitely worth it” because she had so much fun!
