With every dollar raised, every kilometre clocked and every baton exchanged at the Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay for Life event, students at the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board have made an incredible impact.
Thanks to our school communities, students at St. Peter’s Catholic Secondary School in Barrie and Patrick Fogarty Catholic Secondary School in Orillia who participated in the 2016 Relay for Life events, we were able to raise an amazing $36,730 to support the fight against cancer.
Relay for Life not only teaches students valuable leadership skills and builds school spirit, it unites all participants with a common goal - to fight cancer and save lives.
We would like to encourage more schools to take part in Relay for Life this school year and help bring us one more step closer to a world where no one fears cancer.
For more information on how to get involved, visit the Relay for Life website.
